A Manifesto for Secular Scriptural Scholarship and Religious Studies

Shares

Hector Avalos from Iowa State University and André Gagné from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada created a Manifesto for Secular Scriptural Scholarship and Religious Studies in the summer of 2015. The purpose is to create a Second Wave New Atheism that encourages atheist scriptural scholars to “advocate the discontinuation of the use of any sacred scripture as a moral authority in the modern world” among other ideas.

They generously added my name to the list. I encourage you to read the manifesto and forward it to any religious scholars that you know so that they can consider adding their names. Just click on this link – Manifesto.
